New Blog

I've moved my bloggings and new video happenings over to the human pyramids site over here, so there.

Welcome to the House of MOB

New solo show coming June 11th @ The Boardroom- details above and timelapse video of the mural below!

"MOB...LOL" Solo show @ The Little Ghost Gallery, Kilkenny.

Head on over to the aul blog for a photo blitz of my solo show at The Little Ghost Gallery in Kilkenny City.

Nowison

Getting pretty close to the opening of the show this Friday. Plenty of last minute goings on including a death dodging gerbil who underwent surgery, really!
For those thinking of breaking the Friday night habit of a lifetime and not staying in with a footbath, a bottle of plonk and The Late Late Show (doesn't sound too bad actually), well there is an alternative. Place your body in a carraige horse-drawn or not and transport your bad self to the Little Ghost Gallery, Coach Road, Dean Street, Kilkenny. Sure what else have you to do? Oh yeah, the Late Late. Well its me or Ryan Tubridy, they're your only two viable options, choose wisely, but don't choose Ryan, even if he is way better than cyborg phenom Pat Kenny. If I can't convince you then let fresh beats on the night from Luke Broughan sweeten the deal, metaphorically. Not hooked yet? Try Val Kelly's amazing cup cakes, also a deal sweetener, but this time quite literal. If not, then Ben O'Brien's magic interactive props are my last card to play.

I suppose I should attach a picture to this post? A post just feels naked without one. Here's one from the vault. A prop by Ben O'Brien that he threw together for a party in me old gaf, warreh champ!

Al Collins in Dublin, The Scrum Tilly Lush.

Finally here's the final section and final upload from The Scrum Tilly Lush- Al Collins in Dublin. Al's section was done in between all the traveling to and from the other cities involved, therefore his was spread over a relatively longer period of time. As there was more time for his section it was a good opportunity to show a nice wide range of spots and also a nice amount of time lapse photography- most of which involved syncing my alarm with the sunrise, productive days!

The section also features Mini Brown, James Carroll, Paddy Clear, Gav Coughlan and Wayne Gallagher.

MOB..lol

The nice people at The Little Ghost Gallery in Kilkenny are doing me the honour of hosting my first solo show on Fri March 26th @ 8 pm.

To simply sum up the show its a tongue in cheek look at having to supposedly comply to mob mentality in many aspects of life and society today.
I'm going to have a lot of new work on display that I've been flat out on for the last while. As well as that, Bray beat busta Luke Broughan will be providing smoove grooves on the night and also debuting his first album, good show!

There's a few extra little treats in store for the night in question to make it different from the usual well trodden opening night stuff, but you'll have to turn up to find out.

Speaking of turning up- here is Dean st, Kilkenny.

There's lots of accommodation very close to the gallery to suit all.
Keep an eye on the other blog for any updates.
Feel free to pass this on!
Nice one,
Phil

Mob

Here's a sneak peak at a piece I've been working on for my first solo show coming up at the end of March. Just spent the last 8 hours doing tiny touch ups to each of the 28 canvasis that make p the work- gonna be seeing those little fuggers in my sleep now..
More details on the show to follow.

Little picture show

This little pic of Wieger is going into the Little Picture Show exhibition this Thursday in The Crow St. Gallery, in crow st (duh) in Temple Bar. So go along to look at this picture and many more little ones in the flesh instead of on the computer screen that now sits in front of your eyeballs, or indeed on your iphone is you're fancy like that, or an ipad is you are all the rage.

Daniel Lebron & Vincent Bressol in Barcelona- The Scrum Tilly Lush

Here's Daniel & Vincent's Barcelona section from The Scrum Tilly Lush. A little jaunt around some of Barcelona's staple central spots with cameos from Quentin De Briey, JB Gillet & Chris Pfanner. Did you know Daniel Lebron eats a whole pack of biscuits for breakfast every morning? Is true.

SOMA live

Lots of photos and bits from the current "POP won't eat itself" show @ the SOMA gallery in Waterford over on the other blog.

Part deux

Part 2 of Maelstrom's feature on the Scrummy is up here now featuring some words that I had to run through the google translate button from the filthy mouths of two French naked twister enthusiasts, Soy Panday & Vivien Feil. Also has some new Soy art so its worth a click.

Maelstrom

Seb Charlot (coming in sideways below) is the Frenchman at the helm of Maelstrom Magazine who happen to be doing a feature on The Scrum Tilly' at the moment- first up is an interview with yours truly with some more insight coming from Soy Panday & Vivien Feil on the same Bat channel very soon. Click here for the feature.

Prrr Mag in Malmo, The Scrum Tilly Lush.

Occasionally i'll have a few knocks, bumps or irregularities that will warrant me to pay a visit to my doctor. This is how the procedure usually goes- I make an appointment, go to the Doc's, sit in the waiting room, get called into the surgery, describe my symptoms, get diagnosed, prescribed further treatment/med, then I leave. Although my doctor may occasionally enquire about my general (non medical) well being she has never ever once busted out a guitar and screamed out a song about feeble grinds or the creature team. Nor have I ever seen her perform a handstand, not once on a skateboard or otherwise. I guess things are different in Sweden because that's what Perrr Mag's doctor does, really. Swedish society man, miles ahead, we gots some catching up to do.

Danny Wainwright in Bristol- The Scrum Tilly Lush

Here's Danny's part from The Scrum Tilly Lush- filmed over a nice sunny spell in Bristol. Despite having an Irish mother Danny does a horrendous Irish impression and despite cultivating a beer ponch he can still haul ass of very tall things, yeah meng!

POP won't eat itself

Below is the flier for a new show that I'm going to have quite a few pieces in a couple of weeks time in the SOMA gallery in Waterford. I'm pretty excited about this as I've been working through the winter to get the stuff done for it (A few samples of which can be viewed on the other blog) - the crappy weather lent a hand and I managed to get more done than i had expected.
What I'm most excited about is that Paul Hallahan and a bunch of the dudes running the show are installing a nice skinny old vert quarter as well as a manny pads and boxes, should be sick- don't have to depend on the weather to rip some pumpers to fakie brah'
Come along on Thursday 21st of January with your illuminous vert pads and short shorts if you feel like an art filled rip.

Conhuir & Denis Lynn in Belfast- The Scrum Tilly Lush

Here's the brother's Lynn's section from the Scrum Tilly Lush- filmed over two periods in grimey Belfast- the marching season mid June and the chilly season in late November. The most memorable trip out of the entire filming project due to the gnarly days filming during marching and the good vibes from all the fellas taking advantage of the empty riot police van ridden streets!

Skedge buch

A bunch more sketch book doodles have been thrown onto the other blog.

Soy Panday & Vivien feil in Paris, The Scrum Tilly Lush

Here's the next installment of The Scrum Tilly Lush - a few sweaty sun soaked days in the French capital with Roy Sunday & his large eye-browed accomplice Vivien Feil and all their muckers.
The sheer scale of this city really does warrant a local guide when trying to navigate from spot to spot, an aul drop of cheap delicious sauce is quite the tonic after a long days ripping in this urban sprawl, good times!
Special props go to Vivien Feil, the silent ripper who was always lurking and keeping an eye on my camera bag while I was too busy to notice, plus he kills it, good man!

Ruined

"Why don't you do a nice landscape or somethin nice"
My Da always says that, so I finally did some landscapes based on stills from the vid- but had to "ruin" them by combining them with the sketchbook characters I always draw on the bus.

This is really weird and annoying, even if I flip the image before uploading it just stays upside down?! Ah well, kill the gremlins or do a handstand. There's a few more upside down samples on the other blog.
